Webcam Time Lapse Updated

Posted on Jan 8th, 2014

I recently updated Webcam Time Lapse to support retina graphics and OS X 10.9 Mavericks. It was a more involved project than I wanted it to be because Apple deprecate QTKit in 10.9 and I had to move to the AVFoundation in order for the app to work in a sandboxed environment(App Store).

Just an update...

Posted on Aug 29th, 2013

I have not updated this site much in the last year because I have been busy. My second child was born and I started a new job. I plan on being more active again and pushing out some app updates soon. Stay tuned...

Learning experience, but no award.

Posted on Oct 2nd, 2012

I left empty handed from the awards last night, I had fun creating the app and was able to learn some new stuff during the brief project. I have decided to remove the app from the app store for now until I can decide if I want to maintain it long term or move the idea into another larger scale project.

Ski to Sea Results

Posted on May 27th, 2012

There appears to be some issues with the timing stations at some of the legs. Lots of data is missing if you are wondering why the results on the apps look funky.

[Update] Ski to Sea Results have been updated for the most part. Although they are not precise, it is better than nothing. Looking forward to next years race already.

Simple Flash Cards Launch

Posted on May 8th, 2012

I have launched a new app that is a digital flash card application. The launch has been very successful with the app reaching the #2 spot for education apps on the Mac App Store. Stay tuned for the companion iPhone/iPad app.

Ski to Sea Apps Ready for 2012

Posted on Apr 30th, 2012

The iPhone/iPad version of the Ski to Sea app is ready for 2012. Along with that I have launched the desktop app in the Mac App Store. If you have an Android phone you can pick up the updated version on the Google Play store(formally Android Marketplace) courtesy of Victor Valadez.

BakerWeather Crashing...

Posted on Dec 31st, 2011

The app is currently crashing from a bug introduced with the recent changes trying to filter bad data. There has been so much bad data recently a bug popped up on something I haven't accounted for. A patch should be approved in 2-3 days that will fix the issue. Sorry for the inconvenience.

[UPDATE]
Version 1.3.3 is now available, it resolves the crashing issue and improves the reliability of the bad data filtering.

iPhone 4S Disappointment?

Posted on Oct 5th, 2011

With the release of the iPhone 4S many voiced disappointment or concern with Apple's inability to release an entirely new design. I am kind of glad that the design did not change. Many companies have ruined good products in the past by trying to put out a new design every year. I have no disappointment at all and will be ordering the new phone on Friday. Some might call me a fanboy, but the phone has all the improvements I was looking for (minus NFC). So if you were not happy with the 4S I would be interested to know what you wanted but didn't get. If it is all about the design changing then I disagree, do you like having to buy all new accessories every year?

Steve...

Posted on Oct 5th, 2011

As most have probably heard, Steve Jobs passed away today. He was a great inventor, visionary, leader and person. Most people know about him so I am just going to post a poem from an Apple ad campaign that is fitting for him. Gizmodo made a nice video with it.

Here’s to the crazy ones.
The misfits.
The rebels.
The troublemakers.
The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently.
They’re not fond of rules.
And they have no respect for the status quo.
You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing you can’t do is ignore them.
Because they change things.
They push the human race forward.
And while some see them as the crazy ones,
We see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough to think
they can change the world,
Are the ones who do

Ski to Sea App Updated for 2011 Race, and other news

Posted on May 26th, 2011

I have updated the ski to sea app to be a universal iPad/iPhone app. It requires iOS 4 or newer. There is a lot of new stuff so check it out. In other news I have also built an app for the Mac for Ski to Sea. It doesn't have a whole of error checking currently and requiers 10.6 or later.

I have been busy this past year, with the birth of my first son Grahame I have not had much time to update this site, hopefully in the coming months I will put some more updates up. If you are interested I have a couple of other apps availble for the mac for weather at baker and weather on the bay. Download them and check them out, they will require 10.6 and newer as well.
